About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team at Additive Catchments. This role is crucial for establishing and maintaining strong relationships with landowners, local councils, and communities to facilitate the installation of our river monitoring stations. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing community engagement systems that can be scaled across multiple communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Outreach: Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, local councils, and community groups to secure locations for monitoring stations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for our initiatives.
  • Project Management: Develop and implement scalable systems for community engagement, ensuring efficient and effective installation of monitoring stations.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all community engagement activities, providing clear and consistent communication to stakeholders.
  • Education and Advocacy: Promote the benefits of our monitoring stations and educate communities on the importance of water quality and environmental stewardship.
  • Event Coordination: Organise and participate in community events, workshops, and meetings to raise awareness and gather support for our projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience in community engagement, outreach, or a related field.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
  • Relationship Building: Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Passion: A genuine passion for environmental sustainability and improving water quality in river catchments.
